birdcage veil

although i've always liked the whole vintage, retro look of the birdcage veil, i never thought i'd actually be interested in wearing one. i mean i've always seen it at urban outfitters but never really seriously wanted to buy one to wear since it seemed way too glam for everyday. it doesn't go with anything i have anyways. but it would go with a wedding dress. i was never too fond of the long veil since it reminded me too much of something i wore for my first communion in the 3rd grade.

it's quite affordable on some websites, but can go all the up to $300! ya, know right? way over my budget. i think i'll try my hand at actually making one. it looks pretty simple enough and i was able to find a site that teaches you how to make one. maybe i'll do something for my bridesmaids too.

counting down

when i last posted in december, i thought i was making very good time. but it is now march and i do not know where the time had gone! we've only got less than 5 months to make all this happen... aah! i'm really starting to feel a little behind on things, but everyone's been reassuring me that evrything is right on schedule. i would have preferred to have down everything waaaay in advance, but somehow i lost track of time and barely just made some important deadlines.

so far, planning has been easy especially with all the help we're getting, but i guess now we really can't get away with doing nothing anymore. haha. we've got a lot done already, but there's still a lot to do too. let's see... venue, church, cake, photographer, flowers, bridesmaid dresses, my dress, save the dates: CHECK. still to do; mail out rest of the save the dates, finalize guest list, craft veil, choose flowergirl/jr bridesmaids gowns, purchase groom's and groomsmen suits, decide on invites, send out invites, book hair/makeup.... ohhh, still a lot to do......

on a brighter note, i did find and order my dress this weekend and absolutely lovelovelove it!!! it was one of the first ones i loved from the magazines and i love it soo much! i'm gonna try to keep it a secret as long as i can even though i've already told my mom, sister and cousins. haha. i guess it's the boost i needed to get me back on track with the planning. i've got some busy weekends ahead of me....

love

i knew i would be horrible at this blogging thing. I needed a break from all the planning anyways. not that i do so much. haha. the most i've probably done is search the web or flip through some magazines. but even doing that can give a person wedding overload.

i just lovelovelove these dresses. my favorite is the first dress but in the blue shade of the second dress. the skinny black belt looks soo sophisticated. it would look great with or without the little jeweled flower. the long purple dress is gorgeous as well.

we be grubbin

last wednesday m and i met up at elements in pasadena to sample some of their food. so, to be perfectly honest, at first we were not so impressed with their menu, but after one taste of their lychee italian soda, we were in lurve. it was delicious. and it did not end there. red pepper soup, crab croquettes...and that was it. but they were very good. dessert was ok, but didn't really dig the basil ice cream (tasted exactly like it sounds, blechh). i can't wait to see what they'll come up with for our menu! kelley comes up with the BEST suggestions. we can't wait to see what else she's got lined up for us.

get married

two weddings over the course of two days and i'm pooped. and i was only a guest! anyways, they were both beautiful and i can only wish my guests will have as much fun at mine.

speaking of weddings, rachel getting married is out and looks pretty good. on the other end of the anne hathaway spectrum is bride wars which is something i will definitely watch as well.

seriously

all right bridesmaids, i know many if not all of you probably won't like this idea, but i thought it was pretty funny. apparently some brides are requiring their bridesmaids to sign a contract. of course i think this is ridiculous, but it is pretty funny and i can see where some of the constituents of the contract is coming from. i mean what kind of bridesmaid would willingly get pregnant before a wedding anyways? anyways it's funny. check it out.

justified

ok so i might be one of the few if not the only girl who won't melt at the sight/sound/thought of justin timberlake, but I will have to admit that his style is pretty damn hot. i'm not the only one thinking about what to wear. methinks we won't be shopping at friar tux's for his outfit.
